Walls are going up!

Now things are getting exciting. It will now start looking like a house.

What a relief to have the floors covered. Now we can really start seeing the addition.

Above, insulation is put in then covered with plywood

More Demo

Yikes! Has it been almost a month since my last post? Much has happened. They have started demo in the bathroom, bedroom and living area of the existing house.

From House
Here is our old bathroom; Check out the strange framing and 2x3 studs? I guess they were trying to save wood

From House
Bathroom seems so small.

More of those narrow studs. Hard to believe the house has stood for almost 100 years.

What a mess. Note the newer lumber that was probably put in during the last remodel.

From House
Tub is in rough shape. A little elbow grease and it will be like new. If we ever got in the tamale business, we could always use it to mix the masa.

Framing the floors

It's been a couple of weeks since the last posting; but much has been done. Floors have been framed, plumbing run to the 2 bathrooms and the duct work for the HVAC has
been ran.

Anchor bolts that are set into the foundation walls and tied into the rebar

More anchor bolts
